Dr. Ralf Meyer (SHARCNET Research Chair)

Ralf Meyer obtained a Ph.D. degree (Dr. rer. nat.) in theoretical physics from the University of Duisburg in 1998. Since July 2008 he is holding a SHARCNET Research Chair position in the Department of Computer Science and  Mathematics at Laurentian University. He is also cross appointed with Laurentian’s Department of Physics.

Dr. Meyer’s research work focuses on the computational modelling of materials. He is particularly interested in the structural and dynamic properties of nanoparticles and nanostructured materials. In his work he makes extensive use of the high-performance computing equipment of the Shared Hierarchical Academic Computing Network (SHARCNET).
